City of Albany Jazz Festival Blog

The City of Albany Jazz Festival, a 15 year tradition, is starting a new trend this year, moving to beautiful Washington Park!  On September 10th you’ll be able to enjoy this year’s fantastic music in one of the most picturesque places in Albany!

This year legendary New Orleans piano player Ellis Marsalis will headline the show with his Ellis Marsalis Quintet!  New York City sensations Lucky Chops combine a brass band with modern songs and one of the best live performances you’ll see!  KJ Denhert brings a fantastic voice and songs full of deep meaning with her Urban Folk Jazz sound.  Jazz Caravan , local favorites,  focus on all types of Jazz stylings even a Latin-groove reconstruction of Led Zeppelin.  Cliff Brucker & Full Circle will open the show with a group of local all star musicians!

Along with the amazing musicians there will be delicious food!  Lots of delicious food!  Our stomachs are growling aloud as this is written!  We have Dom’s Fried Dough and Pizza, a staple of any festival is pizza and having some powdered sugar on things!  Given to Fry our Pearl Jam themed friends will be cooking a variety of things among them the DEEP FRIED OREO!  Yes your heard us!  A Couple of Nuts will selling their signature roasted cinnamon nuts!  Bow down to the King!  The Meatball King will conquer all the lands with their Meatball themed delicacies!  Mad Cheezy will make you the greatest grilled cheese you have ever laid eyes upon!  Cool off at the Emac and Bolio’s truck with some ICE CREAM!  We may need to stop there multiple times throughout the afternoon.  Rounding it out grab a tasty signature beverage at Wild Bill’s Soda!  With all these options you’ll be snacking the day away!

The City of Albany Jazz Festival is a family affair!  Bring the kids to our Kids Area at the festival and they can hop around on the Love Albany Bounce House provided by Christ's Church Albany!  A Castle even the Meatball King would be jealous of!  The Albany Tulip Court will be there in our craft tent, where kids can make and decorate their own book!
