For more than 15 years, the City of Albany Jazz Festival has featured a wealth of jazz greats, critically acclaimed up-and-coming artists and local favorites at the area’s most spectacular venues.  This all-day concert features world-class music, vendors, great food & beverages. The Jazz Festival is an event for all ages- and admission is still  free!

This event is produced with the help of  community volunteers.  Please contact us to be a part of this great experience.

Special ground rules in  effect: No glass containers of any kind, recording of performances, animals or pets (excluding ADA-defined service animals). All City of Albany parks are now tobacco-free. Security personnel reserve the right to inspect any bag, container or package and confiscate any prohibited or illegal items. Any type of recording of the performance or presentation is prohibited without prior written consent. All attendees should be prepared to present age identification at any time if they intend to consume alcohol.  Ground rules are subject to change without notice; exceptions made for medical or child care reasons may be addressed individually.

THE PIGGLY WIGGLIES

The Piggly Wigglies formed in 2015 with the mission of getting peoples' feet movin' and groovin'. The band touches upon classics and not-so classics from the early 1900s to the 1940s. They focus on the swing dance community!

MICHAEL BENEDICT & BOPITUDE

BOPITUDE revisits the most memorable tunes of the Hard Bop era while bringing back to life some more obscure treasures from the past. Michael Benedict & Bopitude features the leader on drums, Wayne Hawkins on piano, Dave Fisk on tenor saxophone, Dylan Canterbury on trumpet and Pete Toigo on bass.

SOMI

Born in Illinois to immigrants from Rwanda and Uganda, the African and Jazz legacies are always crucial to her sound. SOMI is often referred to as a modern-day Miriam Makeba, Billboard exclaims that she’s “all elegance and awe…utterly captivating.”

CHRISTIAN SCOTT ATUNDE ADJUAH

CHRISTIAN SCOTT ATUNDE ADJUAH

Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah is a two-time Edison Award winning (2010 and 2012) and Grammy Award nominated trumpeter, composer, producer and music executive. Christian has worked with McCoy Tyner, Prince, Mos Def (Yasin Bey), Thom Yorke and Solange Knowles, among other notable talents.
